About: Chandra Sarovar also called Chandravali Nikunj – This photo was taken at Chandra Sarovar (Parasoli) near Govardhan (Uttar Pradesh) during Braj Chaurasi (84) Kos Yatra.

According to Shri Garga Samhita, Chandra Sarovar Maharas place near Govardhan is in a lotus shape. It is also called Chandravali Nikunj. This place was named Parsauli because it was the abode of the sage Parashar. This is in the form of Giriraj ji’s nostril. It is a belief that near this lake Lord Krishna had performed Maharaas with Radha and her friends on Shardiya Purnima and had a Jal Vihar with the Brajangnao in Chandra Sarovar.

There is a baithak of Mahaprabhu Vallabhacharya ji and there is the throne of Shri Gusai ji, Shri Harirai ji and Shri Gokulnath ji. The chandrakup here is called Shrinathji’s Jaldhara. There is Sur Kuti near the baithak of Acharya Pad, where poet Kul Bhushan Surdas ji composed divine Sur Sagar and other poems with 1.25 lakh verses while living for 73 years. The idols of Ashtachap poets also reside in Chandra Sarovar. This kund was rebuilt in the year 1804 by Jawahar Singh, the son of Bharatpur King Suraj Mal. In the year 2020-21 and 2021-22, for the convenience of the devotees in the Chandra Sarovar complex, with the funding of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, a toilet block, canteen, baradari, a pathway for sarovar parikrama, parking, boundary wall, CC road, batch landscaping, plantation, open amphitheater, and electrical arrangements, etc. were done.

Bharuch‘s Roasted Salted Peanuts – Rs. 70 per 500-gram I paid to the vendor on the train though he was asking for Rs. 100.

Bharuch in Gujarat is famous for roasted salted peanuts, and I always try to buy them during the train journey via vendor but this time I was traveling via GOLDEN TEMPLE M (12904) and Bharuch was not on the train schedule but still, a vendor was present and I purchased Bharuch’s roasted salted peanuts.

Note: I remember in February 2014 for 500-gram Bharuch’s roasted salted peanuts, I paid Rs. 50 only.

Good bargain? – Yes or No?

Where can I have the best Kachori in Vrindavan? – I question my local friend.

He took me to RadhaVallabh Kachori Wala located a little further from Hari Nikunj Chowraha and a little before Vidyapeeth Chouraha on the right-hand side.

Kachori is also known as Bedai in Vrindavan. Here you will enjoy Kachori/Bedai with aalu (potato) sabzi (gravy) mixed with dahi (curd). You will love it. It is one of the most famous breakfasts of Brajwasi and one of the finest, most authentic Kachori/Bedai of Vrindavan. Delicious Kachori/Bedai with sabzi at a reasonable price. They make out of the world, yummiest urad daal stuffed Kachori/Bedai – said, my local friend.

How old is your kiosk – I question to RadhaVallabh Kachori/Bedai wala.

20+ years – He replied.

Timings???

8 am – 1 pm.

Delicious breakfast to start my day. Better to visit by bike or on foot.

Service was fast. Within minutes super hot Kachori/Bedai was served with gravy mixed with curd on a disposable plate made from leaves.

Traditional taste, absolutely yummy. Kachori/Bedai is crispy with gravy/curd and is so tasty. It’s a treat for my taste buds. Ultimate snacks. One of the best I have eaten to date. Love the style of gravy they prepare. Awesome taste.

RadhaVallabh Kachori/Bedai wala kiosk is not fancy. Very simple arrangements and very few seats for sitting arrangements but not to worry when the Kachori/Bedai is excellent.

And the cost?

Rs. 15 per piece along with unlimited gravy.

Cheap – isn’t it?

I must say my local friend was not wrong. Great place to start the day. Incomparable. Would love to visit again. Worth visit.

A big thumbs up for RadhaVallabh Kachori/Bedai wala. A fine place for breakfast. Can try one more another day for the sake of Vrindavan.

The owner is very polite.

I stayed a few days in Vrindavan and for three days early morning hours, I visited RadhaVallabh Kachori/Bedai wala and had Kachori/Bedai.

It is so awesome…..I vouch for it….mouth-watering….satiating Indian snack.

It’s no wonder the shop is local and now my favorite too. Do visit once.

Clean Shave/Head Massage in Vrindavan – How much I Paid?

SMART LOOKS MEN’S PARLOUR at Raman Reti in Vrindavan, I visited for a clean shave/head massage.

The barber first applied Gaily Face Wash before going for a clean shave.

Gaily Face Wash was a new experience. Never experienced it before.

In different cities, different ways of barbers to make the beard soft before the clean shave.

Few apply Dettol mixed with water, Few apply cream, and Few face wash.

After the face wash, Gillette foam was applied for a clean shave.

The results – As similar as any other salon.

How much are the charges for a clean shave?

Rs. 50 only.

Cheap – isn’t it?

How much for a head massage? – I question.

Rs. 100 with ‘Thanda Thanda Cool Cool’ Navratna oil  – said the barber.

Please do – I requested.

Head/Shoulders/Arms and Back were massaged strongly.

Why don’t you apply hair color? – the barber question.

Which brand do you use for hair color?

Matrix – The barber replied.

Never heard of –  a thought.

And the charges?

Rs. 250 – said the barber.

Anyway, not now. Maybe some other day.

All I can say is – The clean shave was as good as in any other barbershop but yes, I enjoyed the face wash and the massage.

Yes, the barbershop was air-conditioned having only 4/5 people seating arrangements, and the timings were 9:30 am to 9:30 pm.
