Distance from Hotel Atithi, Charoti Naka (NH8)

While driving the Royal Enfield Thunderbird Twinspark motorbike I stop at Hotel Atithi, Charoti Naka, Charoti (National Highway 8) for snacks and tea. And I heard horses neigh. I saw hundreds of horses within a stable for the first time. The owner of the hotel is a lover of animals as told by the manager present at the reception counter. With permission, I had a walk within the stable.

I will say – If you are an animal lover and passing through National Highway 8 you should stop at Hotel Atithi to visit the horse stable behind.

Hotel Atithi is having good accommodation facilities along with snacks, lunch, and dinner. One can stay if one wishes to.

And then I saw the destination and distance board.

Thanks to Atithi Hotel.

Vrindavan Studios (Umargam) – Ramayan/Mahabharat, the famous Television Series Shooting was done here

Vrindavan Studios (Umargam) – Ramayan/Mahabharat, the famous Television Series Shooting was done here

Vrindavan Studios (P) Ltd., Umbergaon (Gujarat) is 4.5 km from Bordi (Palghar district, Maharashtra).

Fateh Singh – The caretaker and the question:

Why is Vrindavan Studios famous?

Ramayan – The famous television series shooting was done at Vrindavan Studios. Other than that television series such as Mahabharat for 15 Days, Jai Hanuman, and Ravan were also screened. There are three Studios within the four-acre campus and were established in the year 1975 – Fateh Singh replied.

Yes, we all know the super-hit television series Ramayan and Mahabharat but were not aware of the Studio but now that is also known. The Studio is indeed a special one. Thank you, Fateh Singh Ji – said I.

About: Life Cycle of a Chikoo Plant

About: Life Cycle of a Chikoo Plant

Maitri Park, Bordi (M.T.D.C. approved) Holiday and peaceful stay in Chikoo (sapodilla) forest. Prashant Patil – The owner has 4 acres of farmland and about 200 Chikoo plants.

I – The curious one as always. Questions about Chikoo – The fruit and Chikoo – The plant and the knowledge shared by Prashant Patil has 25 years of agriculture experience.

Chikoo is the main crop/plant within Bordi but yes, there are Lychee and mango trees that are also grown by the Parsi community. Intercrop such as banana is grown in-between because a good Chikoo plant takes 5 years for good fruits and for first-year growth Chikoo requires shadow. Intercrop plant helps for the same.

Chickoo is grown with the grafting method i.e., Chauda locally said but as history says: it is a plant of Iran brought by the Parsi community when they arrive in India.

Within Bordi, there are 150-year-old Chikoo plants existing within Parsi community farms. After heavy rains in the month of August, Chikoo grafting is done. Chikoo requires good water but water should not be stored. Rayan (locally said plant) and Chikoo are joined together while grafting and are grown until dislocated to insert into the earth for further growth.

Chickoo takes 5 years to grow fully for good fruits. After 6 months of earth plantation Chikoo – the fruit starts growing but good fruits to eat are only possible after 5 years of the plantation.

Chikoo – The fruit is always visible outside the leaves where sunlight is the most. You won’t find Chikoo inside a Chikoo tree. The better sunlight – The more Chikoo – The fruit. Local Adivasi people are masters to locate which Chikoo is ready and which is not. They help to select to dislocate Chickoo – The fruit from the tree for selling. First flowers are seen within Chikoo tree leaves and after 4 months Chickoo – The fruit start growing. Actually, the flower turns into fruit.

June, July, December, and January is the best time for fruits. A 25-year-old tree produces 200-250 kg of Chikoo fruits. The logic is whenever old leaves leave trees and new leaves arrive, the flower is seen and it turns into fruit and it happens two/or three times a year. It is yet to be known how old can be a Chikoo plant but yes, 150 years old plants are still providing fruits and very good fruits.

The wholesale price is Rs. 4-5 per kilo – The farm rate but reaching the customer the price is Rs. 25 per kilo i.e., kg.

Why Chikoo is grown mostly at Bordi or nearby areas?

Because of humidity, black soil is required and Bordi is the best for the same. There is about a 1 crore plant within Bordi, Golwad, and nearby places. No fertilizer and no pesticides are used for the Chikoo plant and that is the best about the plant.

Wow – That is great – no fertilizer – no pesticides. Great plant. Thank you Sir Thank you – said I and a walk in the Chikoo forest.

I notice even jackfruit is present there. Lovely – said I.

Shree Vajreshwari Devi – An incarnation of Goddess Parvati

Shree Vajreshwari Devi – An incarnation of Goddess Parvati

Shree Vajreshwari Devi temple is situated at Vajreshwari Town in Thane district (Maharashtra).

History of Maa Vajreshwari Devi Temple:

Years ago Kalikaal – The demon was troubling people and to get rid of the demon, sages under the guidance of Rishi Vashishta performed Trichandi Yagya. As Indra – The King of Devtas was not part of the Yagya he hurled Vajra (thunderbolt) which caused worries among rishis (sages) and people. They prayed to Goddesses to save them.

To save sages and people Goddess Parvati swallowed Vajra. Thus, Lord Rama said as you have saved people and swallowed Indra Vajra you will be known as ‘Vajreshwari Devi’ and will stay in the region forever. Thus, Shree Vajreshwari Devi is also known as an incarnation of Goddess Parvati.

During the Peshwa era, Mumbai till Daman was under Portuguese rule. As they were troubling locals, the news was heard by Shrimant Chimaji Appa and he started proceeding toward Vasai fort with the army. He prayed to Goddess Vajreshwari that if he conquers the Vasai fort he will rebuild the temple as a fort. His prayers were accepted. Vasai fort was conquered. The Flag was hosted. In the year 1738, he built a temple equal to a fort.
