Shri Shri Chaushatti Mahant Samaj Mandir (Rangji Ka Nagla) – Sri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and his 64 Disciples ‘panchtatva’ are Placed here

History of Shri Shri Chaushatti Mahant Samaj Mandir (Rangji Ka Nagla):

Sri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and his classmates arrived at Vrindavan about 500 years ago and delivered sermons at a location nowadays known as Chaushat Mahant ke Samaj Badi.

At this location, Sri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and his 64 disciples ‘panchtatva’ are placed here, also known as ‘Asana’. Devotees visit to pay obeisance.

Phalgun Purnima is the time for the festival. Devotees arrive in large numbers and sing bhajans and kirtans.

The location is under the Shri Shri Radha Govind Dev Temple, Vrindavan.

Monkey with Stolen Slipper in Vrindavan – This photo was taken at the entrance gate of Nidhivan in Vrindavan (Uttar Pradesh).

The best thing about monkeys is that they never steal both slippers. Only after feeding them with bananas or food or frooti, they give back whatever is stolen by them – slippers or spectacles, or whatever. And if you are late to know about your stolen item, then sorry, because many times they operate on what they have stolen and make it useless.

Please take care of your belongings all I can suggest is if you are touring Vrindavan or a location having lots of monkeys.

Janeu (Sacred Thread) – Worn Both by Bachelors/Married Men

Janeu (Sacred Thread) is worn both by bachelors as well as married men.

Three-thread Janeu is worn by bachelors (ब्रह्मचारी), and Six-thread (3 for Husband +3 for Wife = 6) is worn by married men.

The display board rewinds memory of the October 2011 Vrindavan to Agra tour.

Vrindavan to Agra to-and-fro, I hired a rental Toyota Qualis (air-conditioned) for a day tour starting with Sunrise and ending with Sunset, and the distance covered limit is 300 km. Amount paid Rs. 2600 all-inclusive. No other charges.

I planned to tour Agra Fort, the Taj Mahal, and Fatehpur Sikri.

  • Vrindavan to Agra is 140 km approx. to-and-fro.
  • Agra to Fatehpur Sikri 76 km approx. to-and-fro.

Total distance 216 km approx.

And I bargain for 300 km. Rs. 9 almost per km. But it is also a fact that I was unable to tour Fatehpur Sikri because I was too tired after the tour of the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, but a great day tour and a wonderful journey as I traveled via National Highway 2.

FYI: I started the journey from Vrindavan at 5:30 early morning hours and reached the Taj Mahal at 7:20 am. Two hours almost.

Auto fare from Mathura Junction to Vrindavan (to-and-fro)

Auto fare from Mathura Junction to Vrindavan is Rs. 20 per person. Nowadays, only 6 passengers are allowed per auto. One has to walk for 50 meters approx. from Mathura Junction to catch the shared auto.

If you want to book an entire auto from Mathura Railway Station for Vrindavan, the fare is between Rs. 200-250.

Recently, I paid Rs. 250 for an entire auto booking from Vrindavan to Mathura Junction as I was running late to catch the train.
