The photo was taken during the Ghangaria–Govindghat trek. I saw pilgrims as well as Kandi wala plucking fruits and enjoying. I was also offered fruits by Kandi wala but No – Reply. Yes, they say it is very very tasty.
I remember it is known as Hinsar but Kandi wala enhanced knowledge by sharing its common name – Ainselu.
Thank you – said I.
While returning from Ghangaria nearby Govindghat I saw a few pilgrims collecting fruits from a shrub. I question and the reply – it is a medicinal plant and its fruits are first dried up and then beaten to prepare powder to mix it with mustard oil and is applied for body pain.
Really? I was amazed. I question Kandi wala and he confirmed – Yes.
Tatela – Kandi wala enhanced knowledge. Thank you – said I.
There are two glaciers. The one you are watching within the image is about 20 meters approx. in length and 6 feet wide. One has to cross very carefully because on the right side of the glacier path is thousands of feet deep valley.
The second glacier path is easy to cross though it was almost melted during the visit.
Sri Hemkund Sahib is a further two km approx. from the first glacier.
All horses stop before Hemkund Glacier. Two km approx. further journeys to reach Sri Hemkund Sahib can be made via trek/Kandi/Dandi.
