If a man does not find an equal or a better companion than himself while walking on the road, then he should walk alone with firmness, do not associate with a fool.

Auto Fare from Gaya Junction to Bodhgaya – How much I Paid?

Gaya Junction to Bodhgaya, an auto is the best mode of travel. Autos are available outside the Gaya junction. During our travel, we upon arrival booked the entire auto for Rs. 200, though the auto driver was asking for Rs. 250, but upon bargaining, he was ready for Rs. 200/-. No extra charges for luggage. It was a comfortable journey as the road conditions were Ok.

During the return journey via auto from Bodhgaya to Gaya, we discovered the auto fare is Rs. 25/- only if we opt for sharing.

Thus, the conclusion is to reach Bodhgaya from Gaya Junction or vice versa, one of the best modes of travel is an auto. Sharing or not is up to you. The journey time is approx. 45 minutes, but you should start a little early because, a few times, there is traffic on the road.

Papaya Salad (Som Tum) for Dinner

Papaya Salad (Som Tum) for Dinner

Papaya Salad (Som Tum) for Dinner – This photo was taken at the Thai restaurant situated opposite the Thai temple, Bodhgaya. Upon the query, we were told it is a newly opened Thai restaurant in Bodhgaya. The food is prepared by the owner herself, who is from Thailand.

We asked them what we should have for dinner that is vegetarian, and the staff suggested (the lady doesn’t know English) Thai Papaya Salad, also known as Som tum in the Thai language. I requested them not to add chili as I was aware Thai food is spicy.

All I can say it is one of the best restaurants in Bodhgaya Town. One should visit. The cost of Papaya Salad – Rs. 90/-.
