Blackbuck (Antilope cervicapra)
The blackbucks are found in grassy plains and thinly forested areas where perennial water sources are available for its daily need to drink. It is a native species of the Indian Subcontinent.
The coat of males-two-tone coloration, upperparts, and outsides of the legs are dark brown to black. The underparts and the insides of the legs are all white. Females and juveniles are yellowish fawns to tan color.
The average body length is about 270-310 cm in males, 240-265 cm in females and the animal weighs around 20-58 kg.
The animal is Herbivore, graze on low grasses, prefers mainly sedges, fall witchgrass, mesquite.
Breeding takes place throughout the year but the peak season is from August to October and from March to April. After a gestation period of six months, a single calf is born.
The average life span is around 10-15 years.
According to IUCN Red List, They are ‘Near Threatened’.

Found from Punjab to Assam, occasionally in South India.
Seen in flocks at jheels etc.
Feeds on mainly fishes.
Lays 2 eggs.

Painted Stork (Ibis leucocephalus)
Found in India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Myanmar.
Lives in pairs or in large congregations at jheels and marshes.
Feeds on fishes, frogs, and snakes.
Lays 2 to 5 eggs. Both sexes incubate.
