Review: Hotel Sai Tulsi – A Budget Hotel Near Shree Sai Baba Temple, Shirdi

4.3 Google Star rating – Hotel Sai Tulsi is a 20-year-old 3-floor hotel with 27 non-air-conditioned and air-conditioned rooms (16) in a perfect location – just a 2/3-minute walk from Gate No. 2 of Shri Sai Baba Temple.

Good for old people who cannot walk a distance.

Even restaurants/markets are nearby.

Hotel Sai Tulsi does not have an onsite kitchen facility. Only lodging, but on request, they serve tea from the market.

Charges for rooms start from Rs.1200 for a non-ac double bed and go up to Rs. 2500 for a four-bed ac room.

I stayed in a non-ac double bedroom for a night stay and I reserved the room via MakeMyTrip.com.

Hotel Sai Tulsi has a transparent lift, a TV in the spacious room, cold/hot water (3 am – 9 am) in the bathroom, a shower, a western toilet, Intercomm, mobile/laptop charging points, a dustbin, a ceiling fan, blanket/pillows, a mirror, 24-hour room service, parking (your cab can get here easily) and more than that CCTV surveillance.

During the visit, I saw the hotel renovation was going on.

The staff was humble, supportive, and attentive, especially at the reception counter. He responded well to queries. You will feel at home. One of the best hotels in Shirdi with a homely atmosphere.

Hotel Sai Tulsi has Wi-Fi availability or not I am not sure about it because I haven’t used it.

Check-out time: 12 Noon.

As my bus for Mumbai was at 15:30, the reception allowed me to leave my luggage near the reception counter and be worry-free.

Note: There is a Chinese restaurant in the evening hours next to Hotel Sai Tulsi. I never visited, but in the evening, it was house full.

All I can say is that Hotel Sai Tulsi is a budget-friendly hotel, good for staying with family.

Do not hesitate to book this hotel as it is worth it all the way. Value for money.

Check-in & Check-out was very smooth – The plus point.

Clean Shave/Head Massage in Pushkar – How much I Paid?

Clean Shave/Head Massage in Pushkar – How much I Paid? – The question.

Kishore had a barbershop at Pushkar‘s main bazaar close to Vishram Ghat, but now the shop address is changed.

Currently, his shop is next to Pipaji Ashram near Ramdev Doodh Dairy, close to Panch Kund Road.

I visited his new shop for a clean shave/head massage, but he was not present.

Anyway, I have always applied Gillette Shaving Foam, especially in Mumbai Suburban (hometown) for a clean shave at an air-conditioned barbershop, but this time during the tour to Pushkar, Kishore’s brother Ramesh applied V12 shaving foam.

V12 was a new experience. A new brand. Never experienced it before.

Till-date I have experienced four types of branded shaving foam – Gillette, Brooks, Cimelle & Galaxy. And now V12.

The difference?

No idea.

All I can say – the clean shave was as good as in a Mumbai Suburban barbershop or any other city barbershop.

Now it was time for a head/shoulder/back/arms massage – my personal favorite.

Though Kishore, who is excellent in massage, was not present, his brother did the massage, which was okay.

How much do I pay?

Rs. 150 only – He replied.

How much for the shaving? – I question.

Rs. 50 only – The reply.

And for a massage  Rs. 100 only.

In Mumbai, I pay Rs. 100 for shaving and Rs. 150 for a head massage.

In short, the results were satisfying. I was happy and finally, one day, when Kishore was present, I requested him for a head massage, and he, with his always smiling face, did the head/neck/back/arms massage. Thank you – said I. Kishore – The best in massage – no doubt about it.

How much Per Day I Paid to the Tour Guide in Pushkar?

I paid Rs. 1300 per day to the tour guide in Pushkar, including his bike petrol expense.

All I have to do is to be a pillion rider and he will drive his bike.

Kishore introduced Vijay (98283 97361) – a tour guide.

Vijay and I started the journey around the afternoon by first visiting Ajmer.

At Ajmer, the following places we visited:

  1. Soni Ji Ki Nasiya Jain Temple
  2. Akbar’s Fort & Museum
  3. Anant Jain Lassi Corner
  4. Khandelwal Chaat Bhandar
  5. Chamunda Mata Temple
  6. Aloo Baba

Note: Soni Ji Ki Nasiya/Akbar’s Fort entry ticket for myself was purchased by me. Lassi and Kachori‘s expenses were paid by me too.

Second Day we started the journey in the early morning hours and visited the following places in Pushkar:

  1. Panch Kund
  2. Neelkanth Mahadev Temple
  3. Buddha/Shiv Pushkar
  4. Badar Mata Temple
  5. Madhya/Vishnu Pushkar
  6. Lomas Rishi’s Ashram

Note: All the above places can be covered in a single day if you start the journey early in the morning hours.

I thought of hiring an Activa, which costs Rs. 300/500 per day, maybe, and petrol cost also Rs. 300 per day, but then alone it was a little difficult to reach all above said places, especially Madhya/Vishnu Pushkar and Lomas Rishi’s Ashram. Thus, I opt for a local tour guide who is well aware of all the places, including hidden ones, and I, as a pillion rider, reach all said places with comfort. Thanks to Kishore. And thanks to Vijay, too, who is a good biker and does not drive carelessly. Highly recommended. Vijay is good at speaking English and a few other foreign languages.
