Ashvek Vintage World – Goa’s First Vintage Car Museum

Ashvek Vintage World – Goa’s First Vintage Car Museum

Ashvek Vintage World, NuvemGoa‘s first vintage car museum, I read somewhere close to Margao. Many times, I had to ride through National Highway 17 within Goa, but was unaware. Though not have sound knowledge about vintage cars, but yes, a liking for old subjects is always present. Anyways, during afternoon hours, I was present at:

Ashvek Vintage World

12/B, Goulloy, NH 17,

Nuvem, Salcete taluka, Goa

Timings: 10 am-1 pm/3 pm-5:30 pm (Sunday/Holiday closed)

FYI: If you are coming from Panjim, the vintage world is inside the left-hand side lane after the TATA showroom, NH 17. If you are coming from Margao, it is on the right-hand side lane after Rhea Estate, NH 17.

Pradeep Nayak – The owner of the vintage car collection is on the way. The collection is a dream for many, but a few lovers love to dream of preserving history in real. Pradeep Nayak is one of them and the proud owner. By profession, a motorcycle dealer.

And the story so far:

Years ago, Pradeep Nayak’s uncle bought an old Mercedes car. The questionnaire, the curiosity developed during those early days, why old one, but as time progressed, the taste for vintage collection developed, and finally Peugeot 301 – 1931 model was bought for Rs. 3000 in the year 1985 and since then, the collection turned into almost a museum. Most of the cars are from Kolhapur/Sangli/MirajMaharashtra, and a few are from the Maharaja of Sawantwadi, Maharashtra.

Morris Eight/Auto Union/Austin/Mercedes cars

– NSU Fox bike/BSA Bantam/Innocenti scooter/Royal Enfield Crusader

– Mercedes Grills/Jacks/scale cars/ceramic boards and many more…

But the most important query – the availability of parts/accessories.

Auto-jumble, United Kingdom, and Germany – parts are available, and collectors of such a precious collection visit to buy.

And interesting to know that recently few of the vintage collection were part of a recently released movie. Film-makers hire vehicles for movies, and with the collected amount, the cars are taken care of as well as the museum. Besides this, on 04.04.2004, Mr. Nayak organized the first vintage car rally within Goa, and recently, the Mercedes car rally. He himself has a 1931 make Mercedes car as well as a new one. On his request, another drive towards the garage – 1960s Mercedes/Austin repair work going on.

In short, I will say: If you are visiting Goa, Ashvek Vintage World is a must-visit.

During the talks, the desire to have more such vintage cars for the collection was narrated by Mr. Pradeep. If you, the readers, know of any such old model cars/bikes for sale, especially around the late 30s or 40s, please let him know. He may be interested in buying.
