Taj Lake Palace – Built by Maharana Jagat Singh II in 1754

The Taj Lake Palace is situated on Jag Niwas Island in the middle of Lake Pichola. The island is about an acre and a half in size and was built by Maharana Jagat Singh II in 1754. It used to be a pleasure palace for the royal family in summer and has now been turned into a heritage hotel.
