Cactus and succulent plants can be grown even in dry places and lack of water. They are used as medicine, decoration for fields, and as food for animals.

Aloe Vera (Quar Gandal) is used in various Unani and Ayurvedic medicines. It is used in cosmetics in the West and in various types of wines and desserts in Mexico.

Opuntia (Chhitar thor) is used for animal feed and for making jam and candy. Euphorbia is used in Africa to treat skin cancer.

Alkoyi juice is found in the plants of Bahuda cactus species, which is used in the treatment of blood pressure. Some Indian Caralluma’s are used for joint pain. And many medicines come in handy.

They are planted to enhance the beauty of public gardens and domestic gardens.
