Helpful Maintenance Products for My Royal Enfield Thunderbird Twinspark Engine
I was touring Chandigarh. It was time for Royal Enfield Thunderbird Twinspark motorbike maintenance. Royal Enfield service station obvious is the choice. This time it was different.
During Engine Oil replacement I saw two liquid products used by the mechanic. One product was used during flushing old engine oil and the other product was used during fresh engine oil refilling.
After the job is done, I inquire with the mechanic about those two liquid products.
I was told one is Engine Flush – Cleaner used to clean the engine before filling new engine oil and the other liquid product is Engine Oil Additive for better engine performance. Even if the motorbike is idle for a few weeks, this Engine Oil Additive helps.
Whether it helps or not or is true or not, I realized it after the service. Yes, as per personal experience, I found the sound of the engine improved a lot. Better thumping sound I can say and better engine sound. Thanks to Royal Enfield for customer care. And thanks to Würth for making Maintenance Products.
How much do I pay for Royal Enfield Thunderbird Twinspark servicing after 30,000 km?
I paid Rs. 1571 only including labour charges.
Element Oil Filter, Engine Flush – Cleaner, Engine Oil Additive, Cap Oil Filter Gasket, Strap, and Oil Change were done. The major cost is Oil Change.
Cheap, isn’t it?
The motorbike is in good condition till date for sure. I always follow the service manual schedule.
Roasted Salted Peanuts from Bharuch Railway Station
Rs. 50 per packet I paid though the vendor was asking for Rs. 60. I remember a few years back for the same packet I used to pay Rs. 40 only. Anyway, Bharuch Railway Station is famous for peanuts, and I always try to buy them during a train journey.

Dinner at Friend’s House
During the Varanasi tour, I stayed at my friend’s house and had an opportunity to have Singhara Achar (water chestnut pickle) at dinner time, which was a new knowledge as well as a new taste.
What I liked the most about the pickle was the deep scent of mustard oil (from the village). Delicious it was.
During dinner, we had Aaloo Gobhi Matar rasedar, Dahi Bada from Birju Idli Wala (Vishwanath Gali), Fulka Roti with homemade ghee, and yes, Singhara Achar.
Thank you, friend, and thanks to my friend’s mother for preparing mouth-watering Singhara Achar.
Doodh Mandi (Godowlia Chowk) – The Milk Market of Varanasi
Traditional markets I always find it interesting to visit.
Reason: The atmosphere.
Almost opposite Kashi Chat Bhandar, Godowlia Chowk is Doodh Mandi. At this market, one can purchase one liter of milk up to as much as one wants. Even in the middle of the night, one can buy milk because this Doodh Mandi is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
And the milk rate per liter?
Rs. 35 and Rs. 32 per liter if one is a regular customer.
Banarasi Chura Matar on the Occasion of Makar Sankranti
Kashi Chat Bhandar at Godowlia Chowk is the first shop in Varanasi for us to have Chura Matar. On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, I was at my friend’s house. Landlady visited and prepared Chura Matar for us. And later in the afternoon hours, Khichdi with ghee and Baingan ka Bharta. Chura Matar, Khichdi, and til (sesame) food items are specially prepared on Makar Sankranti. Delicious it was. Thank you – said I.
