Bhai Baaj Singh ji resident of Mirpur Patti (Maarha) was appointed as the first Subedar by Baba Banda Singh Bahadur ji after the victory of Chapparchiri and establishment of first Sikh Rule. He also led many war campaigns against the Mughals. He showed a tremendous proof of his bravery when he gave a severe beating to Mughal officers even when he was tied up in chains. Bhai Baaj Singh ji also embraced martyrdom along with Baba Banda Singh Bahadur ji on 9 June, 1716.
