While booking an AC Chair Car (CC) in KALKA SHTABDI EX (12006) through the IRCTC website, there is a catering service option available, such as Veg., Non-Veg., Jain Meal, Veg. Diabetic, and Non-Veg Diabetic.
I selected Veg. (if you don’t want breakfast, you may select – I don’t want Food/Beverages).
As per the option selected, breakfast (included in the ticket fare) will be served on the train.
On the train, first you will be served a bottle of mineral water and the current day’s newspaper as a complimentary item.
After AMBALA CANTT. JN. I was served a hot tea kit which consists of a hot water cup, tea bag, milk powder, sugar, and biscuits. After a few minutes, a breakfast tray with 2 Veg. cutlets, Harvest Gold brown bread – 2 slices, Amul butter, eclairs toffee, Tops TOMATO Ketchup, PASS PASS – the mouth freshener, and a nafed packaged mango juice was served.
Once everything was finished, I was asked again whether I wanted a Hot tea kit. I said yes, and I was served.
In short, I rate breakfast in KALKA SHTABDI EX (12006) above average. I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast and the journey.
