The answer: As soon I exited from New Delhi Railway Station (Ajmeri Gate side) I was approached by an auto rickshaw wala to hire his auto services and upon the query about the auto-rickshaw fare from New Delhi Railway Station to Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station, the auto wala said – Rs. 200 only.

Costly, thus, I decided to hire an auto rickshaw from a prepaid booth which is just opposite the New Delhi Railway Station (Ajmeri Gate side).

* Rs. 20 extra is the charge to enter the auto-rickshaw till the Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station. Otherwise, the auto-rickshaw will drop you before the barrier and you have to walk with your luggage approx. 100 meters to reach Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station.

The New Delhi Railway Station to Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station distance as per Google is 9.5 km.

Yes, the metro is a good option from the New Delhi metro station to Sarai Kale Khan – Nizamuddin but there are 2 interchanges if I am correct and the Rajiv Chowk metro station is crowded during rush hours.

Note: Year 2011, during the Delhi tour, Prepaid Auto-Rickshaw Fare from Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station to Main Bazaar, Paharganj (opposite New Delhi Railway Station), I had paid Rs. 93 auto fare for myself and my luggage at a prepaid booth situated just outside the Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station.
