Narsimha (Majuli, Assam) – This photo was taken at the Bihar Museum in Patna (Bihar).

Narasimha, the fourth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, is a half-man, half-lion deity, symbolizing divine strength and the triumph of good over evil.

Rooted in the 16th-century Neo-Vaishnavite movement of Srimanta Sankardev, these masks are used in Bhaona – devotional theatre depicting epic tales.
