Temple Introduction and Brief History
The temple of Shri Madan Mohan Ji Tanda was built in the year 1701 by the then king. The temple was the personal temple of the king and Maharaja, which was built near the Hall Museum, where the king’s court used to be held earlier. The king used to come to the temple daily for darshan. When the court was held, the king used to come to the temple for darshan. The king and Maharaja of Bharatpur had great faith in Thakurji, so the temple was built by the Maharaja in his personal palace. Earlier, Radha ji and Lalita Sakhi ji were seated in the temple along with Thakur Madan Mohan ji. Even today, Janmashtami and Radhashtami are celebrated as the main festivals in the temple.
