About: Haldighati (Rajsamand, Rajasthan, India)

In the Indian history, Battle of Haldighati holds an important place. This battle was fought between the forces of Maharana of Mewar, Maharana Pratap, and Mughal Emperor Akbar, on 18 June 1576. As the color of the soil here is yellow, like turmeric (Haldi), the Valley came to be known as Haldighati.

Now a national monument. Haldighati has been dedicated to Maharana Pratap for his chivalry Valour & patriotism. Also located in this valley are the “Tomb of Chetak“, “Rakt Talai” (Pond of Blood), and “Badshahi Bagh” the place where the Mughal forces camped.
